Volunteering at KNC
Volunteering is a wonderful way of meeting people and an extremely stimulating and very rewarding experience. If you have some spare time and would like to contribute your skills or experience to the community, come and join KNC.
Who Are KNC Volunteers?
KNC volunteers come from all walks of life, nationalities and beliefs.
✔ People who are friendly, accepting and emotionally mature
✔ People looking for personal growth and a chance to make a difference
✔ People who have as little as 1 or 2 hours of spare time a month
How KNC Volunteers Help
Community Care
✔ Transport – Individual transport to essential medical and personal appointments (Must have your own fully insured vehicle and driver licence)
✔ Companionship – Home visits and friendly phone calls to help maintain social contact
✔ Shopping Assistance – Personal shopping or by list (either done for the client or with transport and assistance at the shop)
Social Groups and Support
✔ Help coordinate or assist with local social groups, including:
- Yarning
- Mahjong
- Games
- Coffee mornings
Any other group idea you may have
✔ DCaf – Dementia Support Groups
Administrative and Outreach Roles
✔ Information Centre Assistance
✔ English Conversation Class Support
✔ Data Entry & Office Administration
✔ Promotional Material & Publicity
Board of Directors
✔ The KNC Board of Directors is made up of volunteers from the community.
Steps to Become a Volunteer
- Fill in the Volunteer Application Form or call (02) 9988 4966 for more information.
- We will book an appointment to discuss which role suits you best.
- Volunteers receive ongoing support, training, and information.
- All volunteers must consent to a police check.
- We are currently looking for drivers in:
- Berowra/Hornsby
- Ku-ring-gai area
- Galston
- Pennant Hills
